POSITION PURPOSE:

In conjunction with the Commercial Manager and the Fan Engagement Lead, this position is responsible for selling and servicing memberships, overseeing ticketing and merchandise operations and other commercial activity.

 

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Commercial Manager

TRFU Board members

All TRFU staff 

Rugby players and their representatives

 

External Relationships:

Commercial partners

Members

New Zealand Rugby Union

Other Provincial Unions      

Fans   

Local community

New Plymouth District Council

Hospitality providers

Ticketing providers

Event suppliers and contractors

           

POSITION REPORTS:

Responsible for: No direct reports

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MEMBERSHIPS           

Member one-on-one contacts: in person, on the phone and via email

Selling memberships: outbound calls, in person and via email

 

TICKETING & EVENTS

Printing tickets

Setting up events and leading the Ticketek operational relationship 

 

MERCHANDISE          

Processing merchandise orders, stock takes and general merchandise operations

 

SOCIAL MEDIA         

Generic social media content and commercial social media analytics

 

COMMERCIAL SUPPORT

Supporting commercial operations on match day including but not limited to ticketing, membership, merchandise and match enhancement

Other commercial tasks on request

Some knowledge of the role and function of Public Relations

A detailed knowledge of the game of rugby is preferable

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS:    

The following qualifications are required, preferred and/or proven work experience delivering a professional rugby program:

 

Preferred: A tertiary qualification in Commerce.

 

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:

As a staff member of TRFU, you are expected to:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of areas of expertise and management through approved training.

Be proactive in applying for training and development courses that will improve your performance and personal or professional development in your role.

Work with the Commercial Manager to engage in any personal development opportunities that would benefit the individual and the TRFU.

           

VARIABLE WORKING DAYS AND HOURS REQUIRED:

This role requires Monday to Friday plus additional weekend work during the rugby season, including working at all home games.
