The Taranaki Rugby Football Union (TRFU) continues to see considerable benefits in the community game from the support it receives from the New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT).

The New Zealand Community Trust has awarded $205,000 to the TRFU for community rugby team staff personnel to organise, deliver and support rugby at Ferdie Rugby, Secondary School and CMK Club Rugby levels.

Established in 1998, the NZCT are proud of the contribution they make to local communities, particularly in the area of amateur sport and active participation.

Taranaki Rugby chief executive Mike Sandle was thankful to the NZCT for their contribution to the local game around Taranaki Maunga.

“Rugby is in our DNA in communities right around Taranaki. Our community team deliver rugby to clubs and schools all over Taranaki which enables participants of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the benefit of physical activity in a team environment.”

“Thanks to the continued support of the NZCT, we are able to deliver quality rugby competitions and days.”

“Our community team interact with thousands of primary and school aged boys and girls and the experiences we have received from parents, caregivers, kids, clubs and schools is something that we are really proud of. Thanks, NZCT.”
