Arxada extend Taranaki Rugby support
Arxada, the New Zealand based crop and wood protection business formerly known as Lonza and originally Taranaki Nuchem has extended its support of Taranaki Rugby into 2022.
The company, who go by the tagline “local intelligence, global scale” was founded in 1988. Arxada’s national head office is located on Gill Street in central New Plymouth with production and formulation facilities located in Bell Block.
The Arxada rebrand took place in October 2021 and their flagship wood protection product ‘Tanalised’ will be displayed proudly on the front of the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls playing shorts in the 2022 Bunnings NPC.
“This is an exciting new chapter for the Arxada wood protection business,” says Scott Connor, director of commercial operations.
The owners of Arxada are looking to grow the business into a leading global player in the specialty chemicals market through investment into both the wood and crop protection areas of the business.
“The Arxada brand signals a new strategy as a standalone business while also continuing to maintain our values and dedication to the New Zealand wood and crop protection markets as well as our global partners.”
The new name is derived from Arx, the Latin word for citadel, signifying a stronghold.
“This relates to our crop and wood protection products strengthening the performance of our customers through solution-focussed products, which fits nicely with our heritage and values,” Connor adds.
“Locally, we will continue to operate, as we have through our 33-year history in New Zealand.”
With an established portfolio of products and a strong history of investment into research and development, the business is in a good position to continue its path forward developing solution-based chemistry for customers in New Zealand and abroad.
“We will continue to invest in developing products that solve problems within the industries we operate in, we strive to stay connected with our markets and challenge ourselves to develop products that fit our customers’ needs,” says Connor.
