The 2023 Bunnings Final between the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls and Hawke’s Bay will be played at 2.05pm on Saturday October 21 at Our House, Yarrow Stadium.
New Plymouth hosted its only other topflight final in 2014 when the Amber & Blacks secured a 36-32 win over Tasman to claim their first ever national title.
The Yarrows Taranaki Bulls and Hawke’s Bay have not met during the 2022 or 2023 regular season. Their last encounter was the historic sold-out clash at Pukekura Park won by the home team 33-19.
Tickets for Saturday afternoon’s highly anticipated clash will go on sale at 4pm on Monday. Tickets will be available from ticketek.co.nz or in person from the TSB Showplace and the Hawera i-Site.
Ticket prices have been made affordable for the Taranaki public with General Admission tickets just $15 for adults and $5 for children. Matahio Family Zone tickets in Block M and Block N of the Noel & Melva Yarrow Stand are $20 for adults and $10 for children.
Premium seats on or near halfway (Block J, Block K & Block L) have been set at $40 for the public and $30 for season members and commercial partners during the pre-sale.
Taranaki Rugby Chief Executive Mike Sandle expected a capacity crowd of 13,000 and he encouraged fans to get in early to ensure don’t miss out on a seat.
“This will be a classic clash between two proud provinces and this final has generated excitement through not only in Taranaki but also Hawkes Bay. The Yarrows Taranaki Bulls players felt the vibe from our vocal home crowd on Friday night against Canterbury and the support certainly helped us to get over the line. The team started out the season wanting to earn respect and to make the province proud. With a large contingent of Hawkes Bay supporters expected we would love nothing more than to see the ground packed out backing our boys in our bid to win the Bunnings NPC.”
Gates for the Bunnings NPC Final will open at 12.30pm with local Denis Wheeler Earthmoving Ferdie Junior Rugby featuring prior to the feature match.
The on-field marquee at the south end of the playing surface would again be in use on Saturday afternoon to host corporate guests.
On-field corporate marquee hospitality packages have been in high demand over the past 24 hours. A limited number of spaces are still available for Saturday afternoon with the marquee package featuring a four-hour beverage service, a pre match buffet meal and Yarrows pies at half time.
