Bayleys Real Estate has expanded its sponsor within Taranaki Rugby by supporting the province’s 1st XV school competition.

The one-year deal adds to Bayleys existing sponsorship arrangement with the Union.

The realtors, situated on Courtney Street in New Plymouth, also sponsor the Bayleys Taranaki Bulls Academy, which aims to produce players for the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls while taking part in CMK club rugby, CMK U19 and the Taranaki Development programmes.

Community Rugby Manager Cole Brown said he is excited to have Bayleys on board and sees a connection between the 1st XV competition and the Academy.

“With support from Bayleys we will continue to prioritise and develop our 1st XV rugby competition, player opportunity and experience at this level is paramount to the future success of the province.”

“We are extremely grateful to partner with Bayleys in delivering this programme.”

He said the 1st XV competition draws a lot of excitement in Taranaki with classic rivalries with schools competing for the title.

Dean File, General Manager of Bayleys Taranaki, said the company is proud to be involved in the growing partnership with Taranaki Rugby.

“The opportunity to assist in strengthening a Taranaki wide 1st XV competition is a very exciting part of our relationship with the TRFU. Bayleys are a company built on strong family values and what better way to continue that core belief than to support grass root rugby with a chance for all secondary school players to compete and be noticed.”

File said Bayleys are also proud to be involved in the Taranaki Bulls Academy and happy to assist in the development of the local talent with support from the Academy.

The sponsorship of Taranaki Rugby is just one of many organisations Bayleys New Plymouth supports.

During 2019, they supported the Taranaki Thunder Women’s Basketball team, New Plymouth Surfriders club, Taranaki Western Riding Club, Indian community Diwali Festival, Around the Mountain Cycle race amongst a wide range of other groups or events.

Amongst some of the other groups or events that Bayleys supports are; Make a Wish Foundation, Operatic Society, Coastal Rugby, Egmont Boat Club, Taranaki Racing Club, Egmont Racing Club, NZ Dairy Industry Awards, Beef & Lamb, Ballance Farm Environmental Awards, Fitzroy Bowling Club and the Life Education Trust.

The Bayleys 1st XV competition will kick off in April with Clifton, Central, Coastal, Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth Boys High School, Inglewood and Hawera High Schools competing.
