The Yarrows Taranaki Bulls will play their opening game of the 2021 Bunnings NPC at Pukekura Park in central New Plymouth on Saturday August 7 at 2.05pm.
The match in partnership with Forsyth Barr will be against a yet to be confirmed opponent and will be played 100 years after the Amber & Blacks 0-0 draw with the Springboks at Pukekura Park in 1921.
The remaining regular-season home matches will be played at the TET Stadium & Events Centre in Inglewood which proved to be a quality home away from home in 2020.
Pukekura Park has a capacity of 4,554 and will create an electric amphitheatre for players and fans with its world-famous terraced embankments.
Taranaki Rugby Chief Executive Officer Laurence Corlett said fans would be looking forward to watching their team play at the iconic Taranaki location.
“Hosting a match at Pukekura Park will be a special occasion for our commercial partners, our members, our playing group and our fans from throughout the region. The New Plymouth District Council have been supportive of bringing this fixture to life which is fantastic.”
Taranaki Rugby Commercial Manager Jimmy Fastier expected the match to be a sell-out.
“It’s not every day that you get an opportunity to watch rugby at Pukekura Park, it will be the ultimate bird’s eye view. Due to the expected high demand for tickets we are encouraging fans to grab a Yarrows Taranaki Bulls membership so they don’t miss out. Single game tickets would not be available until closer to the time.”
As a Yarrows Taranaki Bulls member you receive a ticket to the Pukekura Park fixture, entry to four Bunnings NPC matches at the TET Stadium & Events Centre, entry to any home playoff matches and entry to CMK Chartered Accountants Club Finals Day.
An Adult General Admission membership is just $50 with children an additional $30 each.
With the exception of a corporate section all Pukekura Park terraces and viewing areas will be zoned General Admission.
