Welcome to Taranaki Representative Rugby. The 2010 season is shaping up to be an exciting and challenging one for all teams this year. All the coaching appointments for the various 2010 Rep. teams have been made to ensure they are well prepared before the season kicks off later this year. Once again the Development team will play every other 1st division province in the Hurricanes region on a home and away basis. Michael Carr continues where he left off in 2009 keen to improve on the team placing achieved last year. Throughout the season Jimmy has been attending club matches looking to unearth a hidden talent. The team will be a blend of aspiring young hopefuls and seasoned campaigners endeavoring to force their way into the TenderLink Taranaki team. Chris Drummond promoted to the Under 20s after coaching the Under 16s for a number of years is ably supported by Kevin Walden, victorious coach of last years club championship winners and with years of experience to draw upon, will collectively instill in their young charges a passion for the amber and black jersey. After serving his apprenticeship as assistant coach of the Under 18 rep team Jason Avery takes control at the helm. His task is to consistently get the best out of his team members in their quest for glory on the winner’s podium. Kris Campbell and Glenn Hannah join Jason in helping him attain the goal. The success of the Inglewood High School has seen Tony Earl promoted to be head coach of the Under 16 team and take the next step in his coaching career. Assisting him are Brendon Hart and Cameron Stone to build on the platform of skills initially developed to apply these on the field and be crowned winners at the Hurricanes Tournament. Jack Kirifi, with the help of Ben Siffleet, Matt Stone and Dean Spicer will guide the Under 14 team in 2010. Their schedule is challenging but with a never say die attitude instilled in the boys success will be theirs.
